President Approves Measure to Make Public Further Jeffrey Epstein Documents Following Months of Opposition

Donald Trump stated on Wednesday night that he had endorsed the bill overwhelmingly approved by American lawmakers that mandates the justice department to make public more records regarding the deceased financier, the deceased pedophile.

This action arrives after an extended period of resistance from the president and his political allies in Congress that divided his Maga base and generated conflicts with some of his longtime supporters.

The president had opposed making public the Epstein files, calling the situation a "false narrative" and condemning those who sought to release the files available, despite vowing their publication on the political campaign.

Nevertheless he changed direction in recent days after it became apparent the House would pass the bill. The president commented: "Everything is transparent".

The details are unknown what the agency will release in as a result of the measure – the measure specifies a host of various records that must be released, but includes exemptions for certain documents.

The measure calls for the top justice official to make public related records publicly available "in an easily accessible digital format", covering each examination into Epstein, his colleague Ghislaine Maxwell, aircraft records and movement logs, people cited or listed in relation to his offenses, organizations that were tied to his trafficking or financial networks, immunity deals and additional legal settlements, organizational messages about prosecution choices, records of his confinement and passing, and information about any file deletions.

The department will have one month to provide the records. The bill includes some exceptions, including redactions of victims' identifying information or individual documents, any depictions of minor exploitation, releases that would jeopardize active investigations or court proceedings and descriptions of death or exploitation.
