BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Overly Demanding

The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, regardless of its fanfare, an increasing amount of players are protesting against a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are required to access certain guns.

Users have commenced using custom matches created through Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, highlighting just how arduous these challenges have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Objectives

Assignments are Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four categories of assignments, but although many simply offer outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of obtaining 12 of the 41 main guns present in the game.

A number of these gated guns may soon make their appearance on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash on Reddit

On Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. An individual player pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you want to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Extremely Difficult Challenge

Another Reddit user pointed out an additional excessively hard challenge, within the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills over 200m with marksman guns

This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and possibly an additional option if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. The Battlefield Portal is a feature that enables you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

However, when doing the challenges in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for completing them in a custom game so allies are not impaired?

Potential Changes

It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.

Currently, the player base continues to share their thoughts on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer gaming experience in coming revisions.
